This is November 7, 2018," said the minister.

The Grodno TV channel Grodno Plus launched the first HD broadcast in Belarus: it happened in early August 2016. CTV Channel (ZAO Stolichnoe Televidenie) started broadcasting in the high-definition format on October 2, 2017.

Alexander Karlyukevich, Minister of Information of the Republic of Belarus:
The main message has been voiced in recent speeches by the President of our country.

In particular, the President said that there are many challenges associated with electronic technologies in the field of media and it was a mistake to resist the development of the Internet, the development of electronic media technologies.

We must be able to manage them, to be able to cooperate with them. Of course, the focus of our work will be on the Internet, social networks, on those accounts which bring information to the consumer.

At the same time, in order to ensure the production and supply of a high-quality television product in a modern HD format, it is necessary to modernize the technological base of national TV companies, which will require considerable financial resources.

Belteleradiocompany is upgrading the production and technical base during the preparation and holding of the 2nd European Games in 2019 and with the aim of switching to HD broadcasting in 2018.
