Belarus' Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov commented on the prospects of cryptocurrencies in the country on February 2, BelTA reports. According to him, the task of using them in domestic circulation is not on the cards.

The Belarusian prime minister reminded the audience that decree No.8 "On the development of digital economy" was recently adopted in Belarus, which introduced crypto-currencies into law

"We do not consider the issue of admitting crypto-currencies in our internal circulation," Andrei Kobyakov said. "There is no such task.We just tried to settle the relationship on the main instruments - the technology of blockchain, mining and the use of crypto currency."

The Premier stressed that this is done within the Belarusian Hi-Tech Park. "Of course, if we see that something significant could be developed there, we will decide how to implement this in our domestic market," Kobyakov said.
