Western loans may become cheaper for Belarus

Mutual interests of Belarus and the European Union were discussed on 30 January in Vienna, where a joint intergovernmental commission is working.

The meeting noted the importance of the visit to Minsk of the European Commissioner Johannes Hahn, and also welcomed the increase of Belarus' positions in the international country rating.

Franz Wessig, co-chairman of the Belarusian-Austrian intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation:
I am glad that Belarus has raised the country rating, this is very important. Belarus has always been a reliable partner of Austria. At present, there is good dynamics of development of bilateral trade and economic relations.

Recently, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which explores the developed countries of the world, has raised the position of Belarus in the rating on the classification of credit risk. According to experts, now Western loans can fall in price both for Belarus and for its enterprises.
