- A longtime coach of the men's tennis team at the University of California in Sacramento, Vyacheslav Konikov, announced his resignation and will become the personal coach of professional tennis player Victoria Azarenka. For more than 12 years, Konikov has worked as the head coach of the men's tennis team of the University of California in Sacramento, and now will train the former WTA No.1, winner of two majors Victoria Azarenka, with whom he worked from 1998 to 2002, notes hornetsports.com.

Vyacheslav Konikov has a 30-year-old coaching experience.

A native of Minsk, he worked with famous Belarusian tennis players Max Mirnyi, Vladimir Voltchkov and Tatiana Poutchek.

Recently it became known that the USA court approved the decision of the Belarusian court, which recognized Azarenka as the main guardian over her son. The lawsuit of the Belarusian with the American father of the child began in July 2017, after which the couple broke up. Because of this, Victoria missed all major tournaments during this period and parted with coaches Michael Joyce and Ashkon Rezazade.
