Minsk half-marathon winner disqualified for doping

The Belarusian athlete Lyudmila Lyakhovich (maiden name Kovalenko) was disqualified for violating anti-doping rules, reports the website of the Belarusian Athletics Federation (BAF).

It is reported that the athlete violated the anti-doping rules in the period from December 11, 2010 to April 11, 2014 (abnormal indicators of the biological passport).

Disqualification was issued by the disciplinary commission of the BFA. It will be valid for two years - from October 31, 2017 to October 30, 2019. Also, the results of Lyakhovich's performances for the period from June 27, 2012 to April 10, 2016 are canceled.

By the way, until 2014 Lyakhovich performed under the flag of Ukraine. She was entitled to represent Belarus in 2017. As part of the Belarus national team, she won a gold medal in the European Cup team event in the 10,000 meter run. Also, the athlete won the Minsk half-marathon in 2017.
