How barrier-free is Minsk?

How barrier-free is Minsk?

The issue of barrier-free environment has been gaining popularity in Belarus lately. But how barrier-free is Minsk today?

Zhanna Romanovich, chairwoman of the Labor, Employement and Social Protection Committee, Minsk City Executive Committee:
Work on equipping certain places with barrier-free elements is carrying on: we paint lines, change ordinary tiles to tactual ones, so that people with seeing disabilities understand, where the road begins and where the path ends.

Where it is impossible to enter a place for people with disabilities, we install special call-buttons.

Directors of public organizations might start criticizing me right now, we haven’t reached a compromise with them yet, but it is a way out, because not everywhere it is possible to build a ramp.
