Minsk wants to host UEFA Super Cup 2020

UEFA has received applications from nine associations that are interested in hosting the UEFA Super Cup in 2020.  The choice will be made in May 2018.

The competition for the selection of the stadium where the UEFA Super Cup will be held began on December 8, 2017.

The associations which in 2020 will host the matches of the European Championship Finals could not claim the organization of the UEFA Super Cup.

Interest in the match for the UEFA Super Cup 2020 was expressed by the following countries: Albania, Tirana; Belarus, Minsk; Israel, Haifa; Kazakhstan, Almaty; Moldova, Chisinau; Portugal, Porto; Northern Ireland, Belfast; Finland, Helsinki; France, Nice.

Expression of interest has no legal effect. Final applications along with application dossiers must be submitted by March 29, 2018.

The UEFA executive committee will name the association which will host the match for the UEFA Super Cup 2020, in May 2018.

Belarus is going to complete the renovation of its main stadium Dinamo by June 2018. It should become one of the venues for holding events of the II European Games in 2019.

It should be noted that earlier the Belarus Football Federation was planning to apply for hosting the Europa League finals in 2015 or 2016.
