Azarenka child custody case to be heard in Belarus

Azarenka child custody case to be heard in Belarus

The court of California ruled in favor of the former WTA No.1 from Belarus Victoria Azarenka in the case of custody of her son, reports TMZ.

Azarenka's lawyers managed to convince the Californian court that this case should be heard not in the USA, but in Belarus.

The Belarusian court, in turn, has already given Azarenka the right for custody.

Now McKeague has 3 weeks to appeal, but Azarenka's team does not doubt the successful completion of the process.

Last year, McKeague sued Azarenka in Los Angeles court, and during the trial, the judge forbade both parents to take the child out of California. Because of this Azarenka could not participate in tournaments and missed such major tournaments as the US Open and Australian Open.

It is reported that Azarenka wants to move with her son to Belarus as soon as possible.

At the same time she wants his father to participate in the life of the child and therefore hopes to improve relations with him.
