Belarusian ice hockey player suffers in fight

Some media have published information that there was an incident involving Belarusian player Andrei Stas and his wife at a corporate party of the hockey club Avangard.

According to, the club's forward Mikhail Fisenko beat Stas, and the hockey player Maxim Chudinov hit Stas' wife Valeria Kurilskaya.

According to the source, the incident could have occurred because Andrei Stas "fell out of favor" among fellow players for not wanting the former coach Andrei Skabelka to resign. Skabelka finally left the team at the end of 2017.

Valeria Kurilskaya commented to SPORT.TUT.BY on what happened. The girl confirmed the fight at the corporate party. According to her, she does not deny the facts that journalists know about, but does not want to speculate about the incident.

The wife of the hockey player said Andrei Stas suffered a broken nose, and she got bruises on her face.

Damage on Stas' face was noticeable during the team's match vs Kunlun Red Star.

Andrei Skabelka resigned at the end of 2017 because of conflicts with Avangard athletes, some of whom complained about the coach to the president of the club.
