Belarus President takes part in charitable campaign Our Children

The campaign "Our Children" is ending in Belarus these days. On January 9, Alexander Lukashenko expressed gratitude to all participants of the charitable events.

"Our children" is an inalienable tradition of New Year holidays in Belarus. For a whole month, politicians, businessmen, government officials and simply indifferent Belarusians give attention, care and gifts to those who are especially eager for New Year's greetings. By tradition, guests visited boarding schools, foster homes and guardianship families, as well as children's hospitals.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus:
You cannot reward them all. There are thousands of them. You cannot bring them all to the stage. There are tens of thousands of those who responded to my appeal to go to kids, especially those who were left without the care of adults, without parents. You cannot imagine, if you did not see it, how the eyes of these children glow. They will remember it for the rest of their life, that they received attention, that they were congratulated. These kids understand the state needs them.

The charitable project has been on for more than 20 years, and every year more and more people share the desire to give children faith in miracles. This time over 15 thousand children across Belarus received presents for the New Year and Christmas holidays. Despite the campaign has come to an end, the kids who found themselves in a difficult life situation will not remain without the attention of the state.
