Brest hosts first day of January Musical Evenings

The 30th festival in Belarus' Brest promises a lot of surprises for the connoisseurs of classics - most of them are kept secret by the organizers.

There are 500 participants from 13 countries, including soloists of the leading opera houses of Ukraine, Poland, Italy, and Great Britain. Many will perform in Brest for the first time, such as the Presidential Orchestra. The current festival is already called the richest in terms of performances of famous orchestras - there will be a record six of them this time. This will become the main highlight of the January Music Evenings.

Zhu Galimen, participant of the festival (China):
I am very proud that I was again invited to perform at this festival in Brest. I will sing the folk song Kupalinka, a very famous song in Belarus, a Chinese romance and a foreign aria.

Joanna Navrot, participant of the festival (Poland):
We always try to open a new repertoire for the audience. Only the atmosphere remains the same. January Evenings are really special. In Poland, there are no such festivals, unfortunately. I'm happy that I'm here again. The audience is amazing and there's huge ensemble of fine musicians. It's nice to be with such people on the same stage. This festival is one of the most important events in my career.

On January 9 classical music lovers will enjoy the skill of the first flute of the opera houses of Milan and Rome, tenors from Italy and Chile, as well as the Polish pianist virtuoso and other famous artists. The festival includes two other concerts - in the towns of Kobrin and Zhabinka.
