Sasnovich rises to record high 53rd place in WTA ranking

January 8, updated rating of the WTA, the Belarusian tennis player Alexandra Sasnovich rose 35 positions. Now the finalist of the 2018 tournament in Brisbane is 53rd.

Sasnovich, together with her 19-year-old teammate Aryna Sabalenka have recently led Belarus against the USA in the 2017 Fed Cup final in Minsk, which the USA narrowly won 3:2 after the doubles match.

Olga Govortsova is expecting a child, so she won’t play in the coming months, while Victoria Azarenka is still trapped in California because of lawsuit with her ex-boyfriend. She promised to return for the Auckland tournament, but then withdrew and has recently announced she would miss the 2018 Australian Open.
