Belarus U20 on the brink of relegation from IIHF elite

The U20 national team of Belarus suffered a very bitter defeat in the first match of the relegation round at the U20 World Hockey Championship in Buffalo.

The first period of the game it was the Danes who dominated and scored twice.  In the second stanza, the Belarusians returned to the game. Litvinov scored despite Belarus having men disadvantage and Eremenko then used Belarus' advantage.

In his early third period Belarus scored two more and were 4:2 ahead.   However, after only 34 seconds the advantage was reduced - the Danes quickly organized a goal. In the last minute Belarus had an epic failure.

The Danes first leveled the score, and after that in some incredible way scored a fifth.

4:5 - the Belarusian team was defeated in the first match of the relegation series.

The team who first wins two matches will stay in the elite.

The battle will continue on January 4.
