Retirement age increased in Belarus from January 1

Another stage of increasing the retirement age in Belarus has been fulfilled.

From January 1, 2018 the retirement age for women is 56 years, and for men it is 61 years, when before Belarusian women retired at the age of 55 and Belarusian men retired at the age of 60.

Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree in April 2016, according to which the retirement age for Belarusians will be raised stage by stage. The changes in the retirement age will be taking place every year and the reform will finish in 2022, when the retirement age for Belarusians men will be63 years and for women 58 years. Hat is more, if to compare with the previous year, this year Belarusians will begin retiring 6 months later than usual.
