Belarus’ birth rate falls in 2017

The Belarusian authorities are feeling worried about the falling birth rate figures in 2017.

The Vice Premier of Belarus Vasily Zharko has given the statistics that according to the results of 2017, 14,000 babies less were born than in 2016. According to the Vice Premier it is primarily connected with the rundown of fertile-age women.

However, it is only one of the many reasons.

Vasily Zharko also said that there are women who do not want to give birth at all or there are those who do not want to give birth to a second child and more, which is the main problem of birth rate figures in Belarus.

According to the official statistics, 1.7 children are accounted for every family in Belarus., when it is normal to have at least two children accounted for one family.
