Belarusian Interior Ministry hoping for Schengen visa prices to be reduced for Belarusians

The head of the Department for Citizenship and Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Alexei Begun has given an interview to the newspaper “Na strazhe” where he spoke about the termination of negotiations and consultations with EU representatives on the issue of visa facilitation with Belarus.

The documents have already been coordinated and are ready to sign.

Alexei Begun, head of the Department for Citizenship and Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus:
There are still some unsolved issues, some of them are concentrated in the political declaration that the EU specialists want to give pride of place in the visa facilitation agreement.

According to the Interior Ministry of Belarus, it is planned that the final stage of the negotiations will happen very soon.

Alexei Begun:
Taking into consideration the improvement of relations between Belarus and the EU in several sectors of mutual cooperation, we hope that after signing the agreement, Belarusians will be able to pay for Schengen visas less in 2019.
