The Institute for Advanced Studies and Retraining of the Belarusian National Technical University has announced a new specialization "Crypto-currencies and derivatives".

The decision to open a new specialization was made a year ago, said the first vice-rector of the university, Georgy Vershin.

"Before, there was pricing, but now there are crypto-currencies," he said. "We've been writing the curriculum for a year and then there was a preparatory process".

The course is available for students with higher education, as well as senior students of universities. The form of education is distance learning. The term of study is 1 year 8 months.

During the course, students will study operations with crypto-currencies, crypto-currency futures, the use of blockchain technology and ICO, as an alternative to IPO.

The training is conducted within the framework of the retraining program on the basis of higher education in the specialty "Securities transactions". The student then receives the qualification "Specialist-analyst of the securities market".

Admission will be based on the results of the interview. It is planned that the study will start in March.

The cost of training is about $1,000. Initially it is planned to form a group of 25 people.

Teaching will be professors that themselves partake in trading at stock exchanges.
