New Year fairs open in Minsk

New Year fairs open in Minsk

The celebration everyone has been waiting for a whole year is on its way! There are only 15 days till the New Year; however, New Year fairs have begun their work already.

One of the biggest fairs of Belarus’ capital is located near the Sports Palace. Besides the usual food sold here, you can try out deer burgers and even prawn (BYN 6-8 for one).

For those who love spicy food, you can try out Armenian cuisine.

Here you can find khachapuri (cheese-filled bread – BYN 4) and churchkhela (candle-shaped candy. Made out of grape must, nuts and flour-BYN 4).

Oktyabrskay Square fair differs from the New Year fair near the Sports Palace; here there are more state pavilions with food. In some of the pavilions pancakes, kebabs and soups are cheaper than near the Sports fair.

And what New Year is without a nice glass of hot mulled wine?

Both the fairs sell this type of drink, both from red and white wine. New Year fairs are one of the best places to spend some enjoyable time with your family and friends, eat some tasty food and buy presents for your close ones.
