Belarus, Turkey sign new tourism cooperation program

Some Belarusians will celebrate the New Year on the seaside. Turkey is one of the most popular destinations among Belarusians.

In 2017, twice as many vacationers from Belarus picked Turkey as their destination. According to experts, the tourist boom is caused not only by the abolition of visas, but also by the close partnership of the republics. To consolidate the results, the participants of the Belarusian-Turkish tourism meeting signed a new program of cooperation.

Mikhail Portnoi, Deputy Minister of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus:
For both countries, cooperation in the sphere of tourism gives appropriate results. This is expressed in economic figures: tourist flows have doubled and contribution to the GDP is appropriate. This is simple arithmetic.

Ömer Arısoy, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey:
Our main task is the air communication between Belarus and Turkey. We have to work on increasing the number of flights between the states, and we hope that by the next summer season, the number of scheduled flights will increase to 7 times a week.

International cooperation stimulates mutual influx of tourists. Over the past 3 years, the number of organized tours to Belarus has doubled. In January 2018, the largest tour operators of Belarus will take part in the tourism and travel exhibition Emitt Istanbul. Thus Belarus will get a chance to advertize itself once more.
