Belarus President may sign revolutionary IT decree within days

Alexander Lukashenko will sign the decree "On the development of the digital economy" in the near future, said first vice-premier Vasily Matyushevsky after the meeting on the Belarus IT sector with the head of state.

According to him, the document can be signed even this week.

He clarified that the issue of the subsequent implementation of the norms laid down in the decree will take some time.

Matyushevsky explained that the decree is very complex, and one will have to seriously work on the current legislation in order to implement the new decree.

"The issue of implementation is the speed of those actions that we will take," the First Deputy Prime Minister said.
