After winning gold in the sprint race at the second stage of the IBU World Cup Biathlon, Darya Domracheva Commented on one of the main topical issues of the current week-the ban of Russia from 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.

The commentary of the prominent Belarusian biathlonist was published on championat.com. The three-time Olympic champion noted that it is difficult to compete when you have no flag and national anthem.

It will be rather difficult to compete without these attributes. Motivation and a good understanding that you are representing not only yourself but your country as well are very important. All the athletes who will follow this rule will be fine. They will be fully responsible in what they will be doing in South Korea.

The Belarusian biathlonist also added that she did not follow the problem too closely and there was too much information, therefore, she did not know how to comment on the issue. On December 5, 2017 the International Olympic Committee made a decision disqualify Russia from the 2018 Olympic Games in South Korea. Nevertheless, “clean athletes” have been allowed to participate in the Games under a neutral flag.
