Marriage and birth age in Belarus increasing drastically

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection conducted a sociological study to determine what support young Belarusian families need.

According to the study, the average age of marriage is increasing. 

Men started creating families at 27, women at 25. 

According to Belstat, in 2016, the majority of women married at the age of 20-24 (marriages at this age made up 33.7% of all marriages).

Women in Belarus birth first children after 26. 

While in 2010 the average age of the young mother was 24.9 years, in 2016 it increased to 26.3. In 2017, 103,000 babies appeared in Belarus. In 2016, 117,800 Belarusians became mothers.

At the same time, according to Belstat, the average family in Belarus lives for about $513 per month.
