Domracheva not going to Olympics 2022

Three-time Olympic champion Daria Domracheva will not perform at the Olympic Games in 2022, which will be held in Beijing, the ONT channel reports.

The XXIV Winter Olympic Games will be held from 4 to 20 February in Beijing.

"I do not think that I will go to the next Olympics in China as an athlete," Domracheva said.

Now the 31-year-old athlete is actively preparing to participate in the 2018 Games in Pyeongchang. The biathlete noted that to repeat the Sochi triumph (the Belarusian won three gold medals at Sochi 2014) it is necessary to use all her abilities.

Domracheva said that she is not burdened by the golds of Sochi 2014, and she still feels a thirst for competing.

"There are many rivals in biathlon, and in general the top 30 of the overall World Cup standings can compete for the podium. From my point of view, I see the point of concentrating on my work," the biathlete said.

In Sweden's Ostersund, which hosted the first World Cup 2017/18, Domracheva did not have any successful races. She took 14th place in the individual race and withdrew from the race in the sprint. In the overall standings of the World Cup the Belarusian takes 33rd place.
