Belarus closes White Legion case

November 30, the chairman of the Belarus Investigative Committee, Ivan Noskevich, said that the preliminary investigation into the White Legion case has been completed.

"On November 27, a decision was taken to end the criminal prosecution of all the persons involved in the case of the so-called "White Legion." We believe that this is the end of this case. Materials were sent to the prosecutor's office to study and assess the legality of the decision. The participants began to familiarize themselves with the resolution on the termination of the criminal case and its materials," Noskevich said.

White Legion is a non-registered patriotic organization that acted in the 1990s to bring up future defenders of Belarus. At the moment of detention of its members in March 2017 the organization was inactive for years. Some media linked White Legion members to radical organizations from Ukraine.
