Minsk among top FSU cities to spend New Year holidays

Two Belarusian cities entered the top ten of the ranking compiled by the analytical agency TurStat. It has made a table of the best cities of the CIS (former Soviet Union countries) for winter holidays.

Minsk and Brest got into the top 10 cities that are popular with tourists from the former Soviet Union for New Year holiday.

The rating is based on the analysis of the popularity of tourist trips in the winter of 2017-2018.

According to the agency, tourists come to former Soviet cities in winter for an average of four days and spend about $75 a day.

List of top 10 cities:
1.    Minsk, Belarus;
2.    Almaty, Kazakhstan;
3.    Baku, Azerbaijan;
4.    Yerevan, Armenia;
5.    Tashkent, Uzbekistan;
6.    Astana, Kazakhstan;
7.    Brest, Belarus;
8.    Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan;
9.    Kishinev, Moldova;
10.    Ganja, Azerbaijan.

Tourists from the USA, the entire European Union and several other countries can now come to Belarus without visas throught the National Airport Minsk and stay in the country for up to five days.
