Belarus holds leading positions in IT technologies development rating

Belarus has preserved its 32nd position in the rating of the International Telecommunication Union.

What is more, Belarus had not only beaten the CIS countries, but is has also taken the lead over some EU states, among which are Poland, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Italy and Hungary. The leaders of the rating are Iceland, South Korea, Switzerland, Denmark and Great Britain.

According to the new report of the International Telecommunication Union, Belarus has improved its position in subindexes of using communications technologies and the access to them. Belarus has stayed on its fifth position among all the countries as for the human potential development.

The report stresses the access to fixed, mobile and broadband internet access in a country. The development of digital economy, satellite and fiber optics communications have been named among the improving measures for Belarus in the International Telecommunication Union.
