Currently, the 19 year old Aryna Sabalenka is the leading tennis player of Belarus. In the world WTA singles rating she holds the 79th position and the 449th position in the women’s doubles. It I necessary to say that Aryna has been playing in doubles not for so long, nevertheless she showed brilliant results at the tennis tournament in Taiwan. Aryna’s best result in the singles was playing in the final against former world number one Russia’s Maria Sharapova. Unfortunately, Aryna Sabalenka then lost to Swiss Viktorija Golubic.

Sabalenka led Belarus team in the Fed Cup final against the USA, which Belarus narrowly lost 2:3 only after the last, doubles encounter. Experts note that Sabalenka did not have the best performance in the doubles, and some even question the decision to pick her for the doubles.
