BATE back into Belarusian title race after court decision

On November 10, the appeals committee of the Belarusian Football Federation (ABFF) held a meeting on the "Veremko case". BATE had three points deducted for the fact that the player was included in the roster despite he had not yet paid a fine for a previous violation.

The Appeals Committee decided to cancel the verdict of the ABFF Disciplinary Committee and return BATE three points for the game against Slutsk.

At the same time, the Borisov club was fined about $21,000.

Sergei Veremko said he had paid the fine, but due to banking delays the money was not on the Federation's account by the time of the match against FC Slutsk. BATE had three points deducted and that match technically ended 0:3 in favor of Slutsk, despite BATE's victory.

Shakhtyor Soligorsk tops the Belarus championship table with 65 points, BATE are now second on 64, followed by Dinamo Minsk (62).

Two matches are due in the Belarusian championship. This is the first time in several years that BATE has not led the championship table and the ending has been so intriguing.
