Crowdfunding for Kościuszko monument in Belarus successful

Belarusians have collected the necessary amount of money for the monument to Tadeusz Kosciuszko in Belarus. The initiator of the crowdfunding is the journalist and public figure Gleb Lobodenko. As of November 10, about $8,800 was collected.

The initiative came after the monument to Kosciuszko appeared in the Swiss town of Solothurn.

Lobodenko proposed to put a monument to the famous Belarusian in his small homeland - near Kossovo (Ivatsevichi District), near the museum of Tadeusz Kosciuszko.

In his words, this is "an absolutely real opportunity to show first of all to ourselves that we are a nation that values ​​its heroes."

Tadeusz Kosciuszko (1746-1817) was the leader of the national liberation uprising in Rzeczpospolita in 1794 against the Russian and Prussian occupation. He is the national hero of Belarus, Poland and the United States.
