Belarusian State University into Best Global Universities

The Belarusian State University (BSU) for the first time entered the rating of the leading universities of the world, called Best Global Universities, and became the only Belarusian university there.

In the American rating of Best Global Universities, compiled by the US News & World Report agency, the Belarusian State University took 668th place among the 1,250 best universities in the world. Among European universities, the BSU takes 301st place. BSU also entered the physics ranking and took 238th place.

The university rating assesses the scientific activity of universities, publication activity, the citation of scientific papers of employees, as well as the world and regional scientific reputation.

The highest positions of the BSU are in the category of scientific publications in international collaboration, taking 22nd place.

Topping the ranking are American universities Harvard, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University. The best European universities are Oxford (5th place) and Cambridge (7), as well as the Royal College of London (17).

Among the 15 Russian universities included in the rating, the most highly placed are the MSU (267), the National Research Nuclear University (438), and the Novosibirsk State University (471). Among Ukrainian universities, the rating includes only the National University named after Taras Shevchenko (1029).

University of Latvia (1090) is the only one representing that country. Lithuania's highest place belongs to Vilnius University (543) and in Estonia it is Tartu University (331). There are 24 Polish universities in the ranking, with the Warsaw (359) and Jagiellonian (388) universities being the leaders.
