Potato pancake eating championship due in Belarus November 4

Nine countries will take part in a pancake eating contest in Minsk on November 4.

This is the Belarusian answer to foreign tournaments on eating fast food. It will be held at the Chervensky market in Minsk's Lošyca. It is expected that the result of these unusual competitions will be included in the Divo Book of Records of the CIS and Baltic countries.

The applications have been filed since October 20. Consumers from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Israel, Kazakhstan, Russia, Poland, Ukraine and South Africa expressed their willingness to partake.

"The contestants will have to eat a portion of five pancakes weighing 300 grams. It is allowed to soak it in sour cream and drink water while eating. To date, we are not receiving any more applications for the men's contest, but there are several vacant places for women. Participation is free of charge," the organizers say.

During the contest, you can walk around Chervensky Market, which should offer discounts this day, enjoy the fair of artisans, artists' performances and competitions with gifts for children and adults.
