Hahn in favor of Belarus-EU partnership and cooperation agreement

In a free format, without long speeches and global discussions. Representatives of the economic bloc of the Belarus government will present the opportunities of the country at the Belarusian-European Investment Forum in Luxembourg.

Its main goal is to promote strong and somewhat unique aspects of the Belarusian economy - IT and logistics - among Western business circles.

On October 27, at the opening of the meeting, the Belarusian Premier stated that Belarus is firmly committed to preserving the open nature of the economy and attracting foreign investment.

The participants of the event in Luxembourg talked October 27 about the role of Belarus on the political map of Europe. Preparations are now being made for the Eastern Partnership summit. Belarus participates in this initiative of the EU along with Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

In this list, Belarus is the only stable state on which territory there are no conflicts, which is highly appreciated in the EU.

This was especially stressed by EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn at a meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov.

Hahn also stated his readiness to begin work on the formation of the main elements of the agreement on cooperation and partnership between Belarus and the EU.

The participants of the meeting also discussed cooperation with the International Monetary Fund and further economic reforms that Brussels is ready to support in Belarus.
