Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park companies hold contest to hire translators

Personnel for companies of the Great Stone industrial park were selected on October 22.

A special contest for the best translation was organized for potential employees of major Belarusian and Chinese campaigns. More than 50 young professionals showed the desire to demonstrate their own skills, and in the long run find a job. During two days they took written tests, listening and interpreting. Professional jury assessed their work.

Anna Alyushina:
The hardest part is the most recent stage was simultaneous translation, that is, a translation with a lag of about 3 seconds from the speaker.

Chen Xiao:
In Russian, the most difficult for the Chinese is grammar. Because in Russian one word can have a lot of forms.

Xu Baomin, deputy director for economy of the company for the development of the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park "Great Stone":
The Great Stone is a pearl and an example of bilateral cooperation within the economic belt of Silk Road. 20 companies are already residents of the park. It is planned that by the end of the year this number will grow to 23 or 24. Therefore, there is a great need for professional staff that could provide quality communication.

Winners are defined in two categories: students and professionals. The best of them will be trained by the management company of the park as well as in resident enterprises.
