Rostislav Krimer met with Elton John: What did they talk about?

Rostislav Krimer, pianist, artistic director of the International Festival of Yuri Bashmet, has given an interview to the program Simple Questions with Yegor Khrustalev.

You know Elton John, right?

Rostislav Krimer, pianist, artistic director of the International Festival of Yuri Bashmet:
Yes.

You were the organizer of his concert in Minsk. One of the organizers.

Rostislav Krimer:
Yes.

His composing idea... Would he become a classical composer if he had not decided to target a larger audience?

Rostislav Krimer:
I'm not inclined to say what would have happened if... He took his place. That's terrific.

He is a legendary musician.

We do not organize pop music concerts, but I always want to do something to make a historical event in the country where I was born.

Is it true that he enters the stage ahead of time? Usually everyone is late, but he is in a hurry. Why does it happen?

Rostislav Krimer:
Because it's drive, because he wants to get to the stage faster. And he's waiting, waiting and waiting... This is creative excitement.

One person would take more time because they are excited, but Elton John does things faster. He wants to go to the stage faster.

What did you talk about? Did you talk about classical music or pop music? About rock and roll maybe?

Rostislav Krimer:
I tried not to preoccupy him with empty talk or questioning. The very fact of communication, this aura... You remember it for life. What did we talk about? It's absolutely secondary, in the end.

He is a great personality.

And, if you know, he gives most of his money for charity.
