Xi Jinping: We must give up Cold War mentality

The world must abandon the mentality of the Cold War and the politics of power, said chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.

The appeal to all countries was voiced at the opening of the All-China Congress of the Communist Party - the most important political event in China. The leader of the PRC stressed the need to apply new approaches to international relations, excluding confrontation and block thinking.

Xi Jinping, chairman of the Chinese People's Republic:
We must respect each other, conduct equal consultations and with firm determination to abandon the mentality of the Cold War and the policy of force. Disputes and disagreements should be resolved only through dialogue and consultation.

The need to put an end to the Cold War was mentioned earlier by the Belarusian leader. According to Alexander Lukashenko, the conflict of the 20th century has not been properly completed yet.

The Belarus President proposed starting a new process similar to Helsinki. The statement was made at the opening of the annual session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Minsk in July 2017.

If necessary, Belarus is ready to play host to the negotiation process.
