Intrigue in Belarus Premier League rising as BATE have points deducted

The ABFF Disciplinary Committee warmed up the already hot boiler of the intrigue of the Belarusian football championship. Officials decided to deprive BATE of three points earned in the game of round 23 against FC Slutsk.

Then the Yellow-Blues defeated the opponents 6-0, but their roster for the match included goalkeeper Sergei Veremko, who had previously served disqualification and had not yet paid the fine imposed on him.

Until the money arrived at the account of the ABFF, Veremko had no right to be in the squad.

BATE Borisov was punished with a technical defeat 0:3, which throws them back to third place in the table.

Update November 2017:

BATE have got back their three points after a court decision (more details here). Interestingly, BATE were so sure about their victory that they did not even remove the three points from the table on their website, so there was kind of unique situation when the club's site and the official table differed from each other.

The Borisov club will, however, face a tough challenge of Shahkhtyor Soligorsk in the title race. Some experts believe that it is the Soligorsk club that statistically deserves the title more. Currently BATE are one point behind Soligorsk with two games remaining in the league.
