Tourism industry suggests solving employment issue by attracting volunteers

With the help of the program of volunteer movement, the tourism industry is suggesting to solve the employment issues.

Belarus is hosting two grand sports events in the upcoming years. The European Games will be held in Minsk in 2019, and in another two years’ time Belarus’ capital will be hosting the Ice Hockey World Championship matches.

In order to cope with the expected flow of guests, Belarus’ tourism industry is to solve the shortage of qualified specialists.

Filipp Gulyi, chairman of the National Union of Tourism Industry:
A base of contacts is being created, vacancies are transferred there. It may be an assistant to a guide; it can be a person meeting someone at the railway station with a name board.

Therefore, we solve three issues: the first one is that youth of profile and similar specialties gets acquainted with their future profession; the second issue is that we solve the problem of overall employment of youth the third issue is that we will be able to create a group of interested people, who like guest, tourists and the industry.

Belarus will host the Second European games in summer of 2019. More than a dozen of sport facilities are getting ready for the event. The organizers of the competition promised to present the talisman of the Games this November.
