Belarus to take on France in last WC 2018 qualifier

Midfielder of FC Shakhter Soligorsk Edgar Olekhnovich has been called in the national team of Belarus for the final match of the 2018 World Cup qualifying against France, which will be held on October 10 in Paris.

Belarus lost Saturday's game against the Netherlands 1:3 at Borisov Arena. In that match Alexei Rios, Sergei Balanovich and Nikolai Signevich received yellow cards which will not allow them to play in Paris.

Igor Kriushenko's team will travel to the French capital on Monday, October 9, and in the afternoon will hold a training session at Stade de France. On Tuesday Belarus finishes the qualifying for the World Cup against leaders of group A France.

In other October 10 matches, the Netherlands take on Sweden in Amsterdam, while Luxembourg host Bulgaria.

The standings: France - 20 points (goal difference - 16-5), Sweden - 19 (26-7), Netherlands - 16 (19-12), Bulgaria - 12 (13-18), Belarus - 5 (5-19), Luxembourg - 5 (7-25).
