Stolichnoe Televidenie now broadcasts in HD: What remained behind the scenes on day 1?

It took Stolichnoe Televidenie several months to prepare for broadcasting in a new HD format. On October 2, the TV channel held a presentation timed to the event. The meeting place was the hotel "Belarus".

Now in HD, the message reads

This is one of the highest points of the Belarusian capital.

Broadcasting in HD today is already a reality. In this, CTV Channel has bypassed many competitors on the media field. But ahead of the new horizons and most of our equipment is ready to broadcast in a more precise format.

CTV Channel is now on spectators' screens with twice as bright, juicy and super-high quality picture as before, in line with the world standards. Thus the channel has set itself a standard of work that is twice higher.

Igor Lutsky, First Deputy Minister of Information of the Republic of Belarus:
This will attract other channels, cable operators will develop too. I should note that not only the television itself must be transformed, but the one who delivers it to our homes must transform, the television consumer must also change.

Yuri Koziyatko, Director General of ZAO Stolichnoe Televidenie:
Of course, it's always difficult to be the first, because the first always has some mistakes and flaws. And we sincerely wish our partners - other TV channels (in fact, I worked on all of them) to switch to the same standards and take into account our mistakes. If necessary, we will share our experience. We must always move forward. Our TV channel is keeping pace with the times. Belarus is a country with a high level of technology development, and CTV Channel should not be left behind.

Broadcasting in HD is first of all a responsibility, therefore it took CTV months to prepare for this day. The channel now has a new studio and equipment.

Now it was even more pleasant to watch CTV. The guests of the presentation agree with this. Our colleague Igor Poznyak asked Dmitry Shedko, First Deputy Minister of Communications and Information, about what switching to HD means for Belarus.

Dmitry Shedko, First Deputy Minister of Communications and Information of the Republic of Belarus:
Before that, we had only foreign TV channels in HD quality on the market, and, accordingly, today we are starting to compete with them. Our strong point is content, we speak about our country, about our interests. This is more interesting for people, and now we are able to compete on the technological level too. This is very important.

By the way, you can now see the clear picture of CTV Channel not only on TV screens: absolutely all news and projects are available on our website, also in HD.
