Honorary Consulate of Belarus opens in Bordeaux September 29

The Honorary Consulate of Belarus opened in France’s Bordeaux on September 29, 2017. The ceremony gathered prominent officials, politicians, city’s diplomats, businessmen and representatives of the Belarusian diaspora.

Besides legal and other assistance, the consulate will contribute to the development of joint projects of Belarus and France in the sectors of culture and education.

Another priority is economy direction, establishment of connections with business circles. Export of crystal and Belarusian mineral water is planned to be worked through.

Pavel Latushko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the French Republic, Ambassador to Spain and Portugal concurrently:
One of the priorities of Belarus-France cooperation development is activation of interregional contacts. The institute of honorary consulates strongly contributes to activation of contacts-in economy, humanitarian, culture, education sectors. Exchange between people helps Belarusian citizens who live in France. The potential of cooperation is in agriculture, machine building, science and education is very big.

We have big projects on arranging the presence of French companies on the Belarusian market. We also have a project on producing Belarusian water with a bottle of French design.

The Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, where the Belarusian Honorary Consulate will be working, is the third region in the GDP level in France.

As many as 54 General Consulates have been opened in Bordeaux, from Austria and Belgium to Switzerland and Japan.
