The ways of making the work of Belarusian and British business circles closer and mutually beneficial were discussed on September 26, 2017 in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.
As the Belarusian Foreign Affairs Minister stated at the meeting with his British colleague, Belarus is prepared to provide maximum opportunities. Including the opportunities in the Great Stone Industrial Park.
It will allow Britain to enter markets of the EEU countries.
There are other variants of cooperation, for instance, in petrochemistry, industry, the high-tech sector. It is worth mentioning that Queen Elizabeth II decided to leave the EU. According To the British official, this won’t influence the level of cooperation with Belarus.
Vladimir Makei, Foreign Affairs Minister of the Republic of Belarus:
Belarus is interested in further development of economic cooperation with Great Britain, especially in the sectors which are aimed at the future. Today we discussed machine building, petrochemistry. We talked much about the activation of our cooperation in the bank sector-considering the fact that Great Britain, London is one of the most important financial centers in the world.
In my opinion, we do have a range of unrealized opportunities here.
As a result of the negotiation Belarus and Great Britain signed a convention on removing double taxation. This document will be another step to strengthening bilateral contacts.
