Number of licensed activities in Belarus to be reduced

The Belarus head of state has reviewed a decree that concerns licensing.

The number of licensed activities will be reduced. The list will now include only those that are associated with the threat or harm to society, the state, the environment of life or human health.

Vasily Matyushevsky, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus:
The head of state asked the question: "Why can licenses be terminated only by a court decision?" And we paid a lot of attention to this. In general, our arguments are as follows:

in the event of termination of the license or revocation all businesses that are licensed cease to exist, so this is a very sensitive issue.

There should still be adversarial proceedings, when the licensing authority must prove in court that there are some significant factors that require license revocation.

In addition, since July 2018, licenses will be issued exclusively in electronic form, and they can be viewed in a single register on the Internet.
