Brussels MPs visiting Minsk

Brussels MPs visiting Minsk

A new stage of the Belarusian-Belgian relations. Parliamentarians from Brussels arrived in Minsk on a visit.

On September 22, the deputies of the Kingdom met with counterparts from the House of Representatives, where they said that the current visit was an opportunity for them to exchange opinions, as well as study the political system of Belarus, which differs from the Belgian one.

Belarus hopes that the work of the guests in Minsk will be productive and the deputies from Brussels will be able to make an objective presentation.

Yoleen Van Camp, deputy of the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium
We would like to study the parliamentary system in the Republic of Belarus. We perfectly understand that there are differences between our system and the system here. We would like to discuss these issues. We look forward to these meetings, because we expect to discuss many issues, including political ones. It will be very interesting and important for us.

Deputies of the Belarusian lower chamber expressed the opinion that the invigoration of parliamentary contacts between Belarus and Belgium, among other things, could have a positive impact on the situation on the European continent. The first steps in this direction have already been taken: in July 2017, the summer session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly was held in Minsk.
