First stage results of West 2017 military drills

The preparations for the main maneuvers were carried out during a couple of days at eight ranges of Belarus.

Military commanders are ensuring that all the units are ready for the battles. Russian tankmen are mastering their skills at a range near Osipovichi.

This military exercise is called “tank carrousel”. Tanks T-80 are one by one coming into a position on an artificial hill and are aiming at the positions of an indicated enemy.

Such artificial hills are now used by the Russian Army in the Near East during special military operations. The task for the tanks is to repel the enemy ant then pass into a counterattack.

All the task and targets have been completed entirely.

We have high-degree alert and good relations within the crew.

This defensive operation will be controlled from this commanding point. It was set up in a couple of days. It was disguised so well that it is seen neither from the ground nor the air.

This is the column of the Belarusian artillery. Self-propelled mounts “2-S-5 Giatsint” are considered to be the most powerful in the world. They will provide support for the tankmen and motorized infantry. The multiple-launch rocket systems “Smerch” and the Belarusian development “Polonez” are waiting for an order.

The minimum range of fire is 50 kilometers. The maximum is 200 kilometers. The military machine can strike eight targets in one go with eight rockets. Each of the rockets can strike its target within certain boundaries.

The mood of the military personnel is combative. Sergeant-conscript Andrei Kasilovich celebrated his 24th birthday the day before.

My parents know that I serve in the 36th rocket-artillery brigade, which is the strongest in terms of firing potential. I am very happy and proud. They know that I am at the military drills now.

More than 10 thousand soldiers, hundreds of military units are taking part in the military drills. The main stage of the military activities is still ahead.
