EU to allocate 6 million euros to support small businesses in Belarus

The Ministry of Economy signed an agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on September 13.

The money will go for small businesses so they can compete with large producers, thereby increasing the contribution to the economy of the country. Some points of the program provide for the financing of job creation activities.

Suma Chakrabarti, president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development:
The program is aimed at supporting the development of small business and small business is the basis for the economic development of any country.

This is the activity thanks to which Belarus will demonstrate commitment to economic reforms.

Vladimir Zinovsky, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Belarus:
This year was the 25th anniversary of cooperation. During this time, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development invested about 2 billion euros in the economy of the Republic of Belarus. It is very important to note that we were able to build several large enterprises, such as Stadler Minsk, Kronospan and several other projects. We must already look at new projects, and today's signing of the agreement is a confirmation of this.
