Belarus taking part in Combat Commonwealth 2017 drills in Russia

The military drills Combat Commonwealth 2017 have begun at the Ashuluk training ground in the Astrakhan region, Russia. The exercises involve air defense troops of the CIS countries. Now the drills are entering the active phase.

The coalition association includes more than two thousand servicemen and two hundred units of equipment. This includes anti-aircraft missile systems, fighters and assault helicopters.

The allied troops have to launch over 50 guided missiles and use about 100 aircraft bombs and ammunition.

The units of the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the six CIS member states (Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia) are taking part in the exercise.
