BelTA photo exposition opens in Minsk September 6

It is possible to find out what Minsk looked like more than a century ago at the photo exposition “Minsk: Then and Now”.

It opened in Minsk on 6 September.

The unique photo project of BelTA news agency shows Minsk in development. As many as 50 archive works starting from 1916 are presented there. Rare photographs tell about the construction of the first state department store, about the reconstruction of the Trinity Suburb and the whole city from the ruins of the Great Patriotic War.

Dmitry Zhuk, General Director of the news agency BelTA:
You know, this place gathers young people. It would be good for them to see three things here: how much effort has been put into this city, how much it costs to keep it tidy, and, may be a little bit of my childhood city.

The photo exposition will work till the middle of November.

It is not even necessary to live your house: the same project can be found on the internet. It is dedicated to the 950th anniversary of Minsk.
