Georgia to host Days of Belarus in 2017

Georgia will be hosting the Days of Belarus in 2017 for the first time. They are planned to be held in November. It became clear from the results of the negotiations in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.

The heads of the Foreign Ministries, Vladimir Makei and Mikheil Janelidze, discussed a big block of bilateral cooperation issues concerning trade and economy, politics, cultural and humanitarian sectors. Due attention was paid to the areas with big potential. The sides intend to develop industrial cooperation.

Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus:
Belarus’ Mogilevliftmash plant participated in the construction of “Georgian lift”, within the framework of which it is planned to organize an assembling plant of Belarusian lifts on the basis of the Georgian Technical University. I am sure that other Belarusian and Georgian plants will follow this example.

The Vice Premier and Minister of  Foreign Affairs of Georgia Mikheil Janelidze thanked the Belarusian side for helping to extinguish the fire in the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park. He also emphasized the interest to bilateral cooperation and support on the international arena.

On September 4, 2017 the Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Georgia signed a bilateral cooperation roadmap for 2018-2019.
