Belarus’ helicopter returns to Belarus after firefighting mission in Georgia

The helicopter of the Emergencies Ministry returned to Belarus from Georgia where it was involved in extinguishing a large fire in the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park.

It took one week to extinguish the fire.

In order to overcome the disaster, the Belarusian helicopter Mi-26 dropped about 1000 tons of water onto the ground. The helicopter was sent to the area of natural hazards by President Alexander Lukashenko. The authorities of Georgia expressed gratitude to Belarus for the help in the elimination of the emergency situation.
