FBI ready to assist Belarus in investigating criminal cases

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation is ready to assist Belarus in investigating criminal cases, said the FBI representative on legal issues. Johannes Van Den Hoogen yesterday met with the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Belarus, Ivan Noskevich.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues. Among them is the fight against cyber crime, human trafficking, violations of intellectual property rights and drug trafficking. The FBI expressed their gratitude to the investigative bodies of Belarus for their cooperation with the bureau.

Robert Riley, Charge d'Affaires of the USA in Belarus:
A few months ago, there was a very positive dialogue on the investigation of the death of an American citizen in Belarus, which happened in June. We are very grateful for your openness in such matters. This is very important.

Ivan Noskevich, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus:
Probably, it makes no sense to remind that cyber-crime now is a major international problem. This is the category of crimes which one cannot investigate alone.

The FBI is a federal law enforcement structure of the United States, which has more than a century-long history. The agency network of the bureau employs about 13,000 people.
